Reverse Mentoring
Dr. Earl Creps, Associate Professor AG Theological Seminary
Our culture is changing so rapidly that keeping up with things can seem almost impossible. In many ways, younger people are now the natives of a new world in which older people are really the immigrants. This workshop focuses on practical ways in which older leaders can draw on the "expertise” of the young through reverse mentoring to develop more relevant and fruitful ministry.

Earl Creps has spent several years on the road studying congregations attempting to connect with contemporary culture. He brings to this research a background as a pastor, a consultant, and an educator. He has served as the Director of Doctoral Studies at the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary and earned a Ph.D. in Communication Studies and a Doctor of Ministry. Earl is the author of Off-Road Disciplines: Spiritual Adventures of Missional Leaders, published in 2006. His next book, Reverse Mentoring: How Young Leaders Can Transform Us and Why We Should Let Them will be available in the fall of 2008. For more information visit his Web site: www.earlcreps.com

Communicating In Today’s Culture
Dr. Earl Creps, Associate Professor AG Theological Seminary

Kids in a Web
Matt Kling, Royal Rangers International
The Internet has never had more influence than it has today. Much of today’s communication between adolescents occurs on the net, and parents and church leaders need to be aware of what is going on during those interactions. This is a class for parents, youth and children’s workers, all Ranger leaders, and anyone else who may be interested in protecting adolescents from online dangers. When students leave this class they will be able to identify web pages most often visited by youth, the dangers that await adolescents online, and how to talk to youth about online activities.

Matt Kling serves as the Director of Operations for Royal Rangers International. He has a passion to see Royal Ranger leaders around the world have the resources they need to see more young people come to Christ and be discipled through the Royal Ranger ministry.

Can You Spell Royal Rangers? It’s F-U-N!
Bob Pace, David North, and John Hicks, National Comm. & Admin Coord.
What keeps your Ranger meeting fun? How can we add fun into the meeting? We’re going to work through how to keep or add fun back into the agenda for our Ranger meetings. If it’s Ranger Kids or Expedition Rangers, boys will come back to the meetings, if they enjoy being there. Remember the two words that we learned early in the Royal Ranger training, FUN & ACCOMPLISHMENT, they go well together.

Bob Pace is the Senior Commander at New Life Church in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He has been involved in ministry at New Life church for over 20 years and has been the Senior Commander for the past 14 years, leading boys and young men on expeditions and missions trips both in the United States and outside of the country. His passion is to see boys raised on the Word of God, continually challenging them in ways that will provide a life changing experience.

David North is the Director of NorthStar Residential Care, Inc., an agency that contracts with the Department of Mental Health for the State of Missouri to provide group homes for children and adults with developmental disabilities. David has worked with the Royal Rangers ministry since 1979 and is currently the Senior Commander of Outpost 88 at Crown Pointe Church in Lee's Summit, Missouri.

John Hicks joined the national office team in June of 2005. Before coming to Springfield, John served the Arkansas district as the district training coordinator for seven years. He also served as a sectional commander, area commander, and district buckaroo/straight arrow coordinator in the Arkansas and Southern Missouri districts.
